　　Just about everything you do leaves a “carbon footprint (碳的足跡)”. For example, when you travel in a taxi, the car gives off carbon dioxide (CO2) into the air. Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas. Greenhouse gases make the earth become warm. To protect our environment, we need to leave less of a “carbon footprint”.
　　How big is your carbon footprint? To get an idea, take a look at the following numbers.
　　* TV sets and DVD players produce 723kg of CO2 a year.
　　* If you use your dryer machine five times per week, you produce 185kg of CO2 per year.
　　* If you take an eight-minute shower every day, you produce 616kg of CO2 a year.
　　Surprised? Well, here's how you can work to reduce it:

　　* Each week, choose a day not to eat meat. Meat uses up lots of energy because it takes a long

　　* Do not waste food. Ask to take food home from restaurants if there's any left.

　　* Save energy by using efficient light bulbs. Turn off the lights when you leave.
　　* Take short showers rather than baths.
　　* Dry your clothes in the sun instead of in a dryer machine.

　　* Only print things out when necessary, and print double-sided.
