　　A few days ago I got a call from my old college friend whom I haven’t seen for a very long time. The topic was about all the good old times that we had and about his recent graduation, but he changed to a moving story when he started talking about his father.
　　His father’s bad health made him stay at the hospital. Because of his illness, his father suffered from insomnia(失眠) and often talking to himself. My friend had not been able to sleep for a few days as he had to keep watching his father’s condition, he became angry and told his father to keep silence and try to get some sleep. His father said that he really wanted to sleep well because he was very tired and told my friend to leave him alone in the hospital if he did not want to be with him.

　　There are several skydiving (跳傘) centers in the United States. Skydiving can be a safe sport with the right instruction. Before taking your first jump, you need to learn the safety rules. When you take lessons, the first thing you are going to learn is the equipment（設備） you need and how to use it properly.
　　The most important piece of equipment is your parachute. The normal skydiving parachute includes a small parachute. It will be used when the main parachute does not open. Another important piece of equipment is your AAD（自動啟動裝置）．It will help to open your parachute if you fail to do it when you reach 800 feet.
　　Your jumpsuit protects your body, and your helmet protects your head and eyes. You can also wear special glasses to protect your eyes. You will need to wear sports shoes, because they will be able to absorb some of the shock when you land. There are shoes specially made for skydiving which are sold in skydiving shops. You can ask your skydiving teacher more useful information about equipment.
　　When you take skydiving lessons in the United States, you will most likely rent (租借)your equipment. This is because most people only jump once or twice in their lives. Of course, there are other people who love skydiving and want to do it many times. If you find that you enjoy skydiving, you might even want to become a professional teacher and give your own lessons. For these people, it is better to buy their own equipment, because it will save them money in the long run.
