　　What a Day!
　　Yesterday was a bad day for me. Grandma and Grandpa were still on their vacation in India. Father was on business and a phone from mother’s school called her out.  61            .
　　In the afternoon, after mother left, they jumped out of their beds and had a serious fight. Dick preferred a basketball match on TV while Sam liked cartoons. 　　　　62　　　　　. When it was supper time, Dick wanted to go to the MacDonald’s but Sam preferred KFC. Finally we had Pizza.
　　After supper, it was about 8:00 p.m. Mother wasn’t home yet. She phoned and told me to have my brothers in bed by 9.  63            . I turned on the porch (走廊) light, opened the door and stepped onto the porch. When I did so, the two boys slammed(砰地關(guān)上)the door and locked it behind me. Since it was the middle of winter, I was frozen. They rolled on the floor and laughed for about 15 minutes.
　　64           . Dick came, put his arms around me and said he was sorry. I accepted it. But when I tried to get up, I found myself cuffed（銬）to the chair with toy handcuffs! They threw the key somewhere in the room.
　　When mother got home, it took her 20 minutes to find the key and get me out. What a bad day! （224）

　　Confidence is very important in daily life. It can help you to develop a healthy attitude （態(tài)度）. A study shows that the people who are more confident are much happier. They can have more chance to make themselves successful. But how to be more confident? Here are some suggestions:
　　?Speak loud   When you are not confident, you can't do well what you want to do. You speak in a voice so low that other people can hardly hear you. Try to speak loud enough so that people can hear you clearly. The high voice can help you become more confident.
　　?Play sports   Physical exercise makes you tired but completely relaxed. A strong body helps you be full of confidence.
　　?Encourage yourself  Write down a list of things you did during the day to see how many things you have done well. Did you finish your homework? Did you tell a joke that made everybody laugh? Give yourself praise for the good things you've done.
　　?Get rid of  fear  Fear comes along with failure. But it's easy to overcome （克服） if you know that failure is part of your life. Don't hide your head just because you said something stupid last time. Try to start again and believe you can do better.
　　?Pick up a hobby   If you like singing, sing as much as you can.  In some ways, a hobby can make you outstanding. And it will make you happy and confident.
