After I told him what had happened, he hurried to my home and carried my grandpa on his back. Then we took a taxi to the hospital. Jim helped me look after Grandpa until my parents arrived. When my parents thanked him, Jim just said, “It’s my pleasure.”

My best friend
   A life without friends is like a life without the sun. Nobody can live alone in the world. I have many friends. Among them Ann is my best friend.
   Ann is kind and honest. She is my neighbour. We play and study together every day. When I am in trouble, she gives me a hand without any rewards; when I am upset, she gives me help;when I make a mistake, she tells me the way to correct it. She shares not only happiness but also sadness with me. With the help of her, I am able to grow healthily.Thanks to her, I have made great progress in many ways. However, she moved to Shanghai last year. I am unhappy about that.Now we can only keep in touch by phone or through the Internet. I miss her very much.
   As the saying goes, “Make new friends, but keep the old ones.” Our friendship will last for ever.

Last month, one of my classmates, Sally was sad. Her father got ill and stayed in hospital. She had to look after him. So she missed a lot of lessons. In the English exam she failed.
During those days she was worried about her father and study. When we learned about that, we decided to help her. Some classmates helped her with her study. Others took turns to care for her father. Our monitor encouraged her to smile at life. Soon Sally caught up with her classmates in her study and her father became better and better. Sometimes she joined us in the game. Smile appeared on her face again.
